Where's The Band?
It seems like today every singer of every band in every genre of music decides it’s cool to either put out a solo album or do acoustic shows by themselves. (How many lead singers does it take to screw in a light bulb? One, but he needs a whole crowd to watch.) It’s rare that these solo careers are anywhere near as good as the band from which they were spawned but today the Where’s the Band? tour was announced.
Sort of like the Revival Tour that passed through Philadelphia about two months ago, Where’s the Band? features Chris Conley of Saves the Day, Dustin Kensrue of Thrice, Matt Pryor of the Get Up Kids (the recently reformed, Get Up Kids) and Anthony Raneri of Bayside crossing the country for a set of shows where they will share the van and “perhaps, share the stage with each other for a uniquely intimate evening.”
Currently the closest the tour is coming to Philadelphia is Pittsburgh but not all of the shows have been announced yet. This has the potential to be one of the coolest things to happen in early 2009 so if you care a lot, get in the car and drive, if you’re on the fence, wait til a Philadelphia show is announced.
