Jean Grae and Hustle Simmons at The Trocadero

Two great acts and a host of dope emcees always makes for a good show, and the smaller size of the venue added a lot to the overall vibe, making everything feel a much more personal. It was also good to see producers, emcees and DJs come out to support their own, as the audience ended up being a who’s who of Philadelphia’s hip hop scene. Ultimately it was all about the music, and Hustle Simmons’ made hometown hip hop heads proud while Jean held things down for New York nicely. Hip hop shows on Thursday nights don’t get much better than this. April 2nd, 2009
