My goodness Snoop Dogg is willing to do anything these days! He showed up on the Martha Stewart show and made Cognac mashed potatoes, was in talks to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol, and made an appearance on the Katy Perry track "California Girls".

At one point or another, we all wanted to be an astronaut. What's better than flying through space, eating dehydrated food, and floating at zero gravity? For those of us who didn't reach our outer-galactic dreams, NASA is looking for the assistance of all non-space cadets.

Whether you love them or hate them, the orange Alexander Calder sculptures that lay amongst the Ben Franklin parkway are some of the most remarkable and strangest structures. At this point, we're sort of known for our oversized structures. Take the giant clothespin for example, we would be lost without it!

No Minor Threat means no Fugazi. Had Henry Rollins never been a part of Black Flag, Get In The Van wouldn't have been penned. Without Inside Out, Rage Against The Machine probably would have never existed. No hardcore means no post-hardcore. If zines ceased to exist, more specifically the Touch and Go fanzine, the American invention of hardcore music would not have been preserved in print.

After the HARD LA Festival cancellation (which is actually now re-scheduled for October) and a slump in ticket sales, the popularized electronic festival doesn't need anymore bad press. Unfortunately, when you have a band like Crystal Castles on the bill, don't expect good behavior.

Many many moons ago, there was a Philadelphia alternative radio station that you could turn to for the best new indie rock hits and everything around that particular genre. That station was Y100 Rocks. After 12 years of airtime, the station was pulled off and replaced by yet another awful hip-hop station in 2005.

M.I.A. has been all over the news for the past month or so. Whether it was dishing out a New York Mag reporters number, claiming her cousins we're homies with 2Pac, or releasing her 3rd studio album, there is most definitely not a lack of Maya media presence.

To top it all off, music festival HARD L.A., in which the Sri-Lanken rapper was headlining, has been canceled. Due to security issues following the Electric Daisy Carnival that took place in Los Angeles, coordinators had no choice but to scrap the show altogether. Apparently there were 226 reported injuries and a 15-year-old died of a drug overdose.
