Still trying to look for that old Hüsker Dü 7”? Ever thought about getting rid of that old 8-track player (It’s vintage so it has to be good…right?) sitting in your basement collecting dust? Always wanted to pick up the guitar, but stuck with a budget of $25? Look no further than this summer’s Punk Rock Flea Market.

The bi-annual flea market hosted by everyone’s favorite R5 Productions has returned and this time it is two whole days! On July 11th and 12th, the Starlight Ballroom will play host to the event where over 100 tables will be set up to sell everything from automobiles to baked goods. A number of businesses set up shop in addition to your average Joe Punker selling his clothes-pinned jacket and rude boy pants. Despite what you may think, the flea market does not only sell “punk” items. For every old pair of combat boots, you’ll find vegan cookies, laptops, stereos, bicycles, and more!

There is a small donation fee to get in ($3!) that will grant you entrance both days of the event. All proceeds go towards R5’s ability to put on amazing shows at the First Unitarian Church every year. A majority of the money raised goes to covering the high insurance costs it takes to have such hardcore and dangerous bands like Hey Monday and Casiotone for the Painfully Alone. All fans of the church shows, and R5 in general, should do the right thing and make their way over to the ballroom to support such a great Philadelphia staple.
