The Residents

A catch-all of the day's music news.

Did anybody else think The Who really blew it last night? Like, Pete-Townshend-couldn't-play-guitar blew it? Roger Daltrey even admitted the halftime show is just a way to give people a chance to go to the bathroom. As if the commercial breaks weren't enough.

In other big game music news, no one was quite expecting Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" to show up in a Volkswagen commercial, but Arcade Fire sold "Wake Up' to the NFL, and proceeds are benefiting Haiti.

No plans tonight? The Residents are at WCL tonight.

Gogol Bordello will thrash and stomp through The E-Factory May 1.

Michel Gondry is wrapped up in some kind of super-secret collaboration with Bjork.

Like The Decemberists? Here's a cache of more than 50 covers the band's recorded.

Want to catch Jay-Z in China? Fat chance. Check out 15 acts and the countries they're banned from.

And finally, because we don't want to show you any videos from the game last night, here's 40 wild birds playing a Gibson guitar.

Did you ever consider learning how to spell Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey's names correctly? Man, you guys are amateurs.
